People Buy From Leaders. Here’s 3 Tips To Look Like One

How people perceive you in business is massive.

Let's say you’re walking down a busy street and a man wearing shorts and a T-shirt approaches you trying to sell you a Rolex watch.

Your scammer alarms would be going by the dozen.

But if you saw that same dude selling those same watches but he was in a custom suit, polished shoes with slick hair.

You’d think the watches are legit, — he now looks like the type of person who owns a Rolex.

Now I’m not saying you need to walk around in a custom made tweed jacket all day and sell everything you own to buy a Maserati.

But there are some small differences you can make to your appearance that will win more trust from your customers and land you more clients as a result.

I’ve given you 3 of the most influential ones, and I think the last one is really going to surprise you.

Dress up like the person customers want to buy from.

This one all depends on what industry you specialise in.

If you sell B2B or corporate then a smart fitted suit is obviously ideal.

But if you sell chicken food to farmers, and you show up to their field in a suit and tie and shiny new shoes

You’re going to look like a right fool when you step out of your car straight into 3 inch deep mud.

Highly unlikely a farmer’s going to buy from you.

But if you show up looking like either of these:

Then he’ll think you’re “one of them”, and he’ll trust you a whole lot more as a result, making that sale a whole lot easier.

So think about the first impression you want them to have of you before a word is spoken.

Then dress up so you give yourself the best chance of communicating this.

Good housekeeping

Similar to the first one, don’t show up looking like a hobo, keep your hair at a reasonable length, always groom.

Looking clean, tidy and organised grants you a baseline level of respect.

And you can amplify this effect by being in fantastic shape - this is almost a cheat code to trust and belief in you and your competency; it demonstrates you have the discipline to do something hard for extended periods of time, a virtue any potential customer would appreciate the person they’re buying from having.

Plus, you’ll also have better confidence and more energy, amplifying these effects even further.

DOUBLE PLUS, it feels great.

Be generous

This is super underutilised because 99% of people concentrate purely on themselves. They don’t like giving away more than they absolutely have to.

Which is why if you are generous with your assets, you will be the type of person people remember and want to do business with over and over again.

Tip the waiter an extra £5, offer one of your services for a massive discount to an acquaintance or even someone you just met.

This level of selflessness is so rare that you win friends instantly and become a shining light people look up to.

Which builds a strong relationship and may lead to many business opportunities down the road.

At least way more potentially than if you were tight with what you could give to someone.

To Summarise

Look like a pro, feel like a pro, act like a pro, and you will be the pro people want to work with and throw their money to time and time again.

There’s many more of these examples, have fun finding these nuggets and implementing them in your life. And seeing the wonderful results it has on your business and with your relationships and overall happiness.

Have a great day

Josh
